Facebook eh? Hmmmmm.......well now I am inspired to pray for you even more. Good luck with that anyway......eek, I lasted an hour or less with Facebook. Unlike you I am not fascinated with reconnections. But I hope it is a good and fun thing for you and you reconnect with many old friends.

I was set not to like the book, The Shack but after reading it, I thought it was really good and thought provoking. All the time I read it, I kept thinking it needs a study to go along with it. I finally decided God was urging me to write a study which I did. If anyone would like it, email me at prayerdigm.bookstudy@yahoo.com. I would be glad to send you the study. You are welcome to use it and copy it for others.

Thanks for this, Bill! I've appreciated your blog on many occasions - this one particularly resonates with me. I find it easy to enjoy the virtual community more than the real community - I want to rise to the challenge of personally placing highest value on the "face to face" community.

Neil,

At the heart of New Covenant lament is the grace and mercy found in the forgiveness of sins. Even as the Psalmist was undoubtedly aware that Israel's sins and disregard for the covenant had brought on the defeats and exiles, so we are aware of our failings. Yet, like the Psalmist, we focus on our faithfulness today and the hope for tomorrow. In fact, it seems to me that the Psalmist is quite unconcerned about past failings. Perhaps there is a lesson in that for all of us.
